Work
COOKIES
|

Guests at a work party are putting forth great effort to help you with a house or garden project; so why not reward them with some sumptuous homemade cookies?
Homemade work cookies can take a variety of forms, but they should be large, rich and filling. Guests at work on a big project, be it household or indoor, will be very hungry for hearty treats, as opposed to light, delicate tea cookies. Oversized chocolate chip cookies or chocolate chip dessert pizzas would be a good choice, as would thick chocolate chunk or brownie cookies, or round vanilla or shortbread cookies topped with thick icing.
As another option, the host could ‘work’ on some homemade cookies that liken the tools commonly used at a typical work party. With the help of some special cookie cutters as well as a good helping of decorative icing, the host could morph the standard baked good into a rake, a shovel, a hoe, a bulldozer, a tractor, a mower, a hammer, a nail, or a wrench; the specific tools that she chooses to bake will depend on the instruments that are being used as a part of the particular work project that the party involves. A tractor cookie, for example, might not look in place at a roof raising; then again, if the cookies are rich and delicious enough, chances are guests won’t really care!
As an added, adorable touch, the host could distribute the homemade work cookies in small containers which resemble tool boxes. That should ‘work’ for hungry guests!
