A work party is a most constructive celebration, one in which a group of guests collaborate on a specific, labor-intensive project; that doesn’t mean, though, that they can’t also enjoy some good ol’, totally rocking party music, that they can’t whistle while they work. Music always makes the day go faster.
The perfect work party playlist is one complete with popular songs that will ‘work for’ hosts and guests alike. Always choose tunes that are tasteful but fun. It should include:
Workin’ for a Livin’ by Huey Lewis and the News
Taking Care of Business by Bachman Turner Overdrive. Most partygoers will know the lyrics and sing along.
Workin’ Day and Night by Michael Jackson
Give a Little Bit by Supertramp
I Work (I Get the Job Done) by Big Daddy Kane. Just make sure no kiddies or uptight bosses are listening!
Nothin’ But a Good Time by Poison. This is the ultimate hard rock anthem for workers.
As they’re working hard, work party guests will need plenty of party supplies ready and on hand, including cups, glasses, plates and bowls in basic, muted shades; tableware that will supply them with fortifying refreshments during the course of their work sessions. And, of course, guests should be provided with all needed safety equipment required for the job at hand, including hardhats, work gloves, safety vests, etc.
They also might appreciate fun take home party tokens that include commemorative certificates, T-shirts and hats acknowledging their part in the project.
Quick tip: Planning ahead is key to being prepared for any event as the hostess of the day. As you plan a menu for a celebration remember, there may be vegetarians and vegans on the guest list so plan accordingly. A blank wall is a canvas waiting to be decorated with your artistic related theme ideas.

A work party is the perfect time for homemade banners, handmade signs, balloon bouquets and various handmade party supplies. These sweet little accents can make a party. Most people enjoy getting together with family and friends to complete projects or to just have fun. A work party can be for either. It is possible to have fun at work. Therefore, party supplies for this work party may vary. From different types of homemade hats, handmade party glow sticks and homemade streamers to homemade work banners and homemade work signs. Most often, preparing for a work party can be enjoyable. It can be almost as much fun as the festivity.
Most people will research their company's logo and plan the homemade work party supplies they will need for the party. A homemade banner or handmade sign for a work party can tell a lot about a party. This handmade banner needs to be appropriate and designed for this work party. It should be colorful but tasteful and professional. Whether it is a holiday party or a work event, or an actual party where work is being done (painting a house, moving, etc…) a handmade work party banner will be a perfect touch. It will be the icing on the party cake, so to speak.
A homemade work banner can often compare to other homemade party supplies. A very simple homemade work banner can be made by using a solid color pillowcase. The pillowcase is then decorated with a picture and words for the work party. Then when the work banner is completed, it is hung up for everyone to see.

Perhaps the most worthwhile and constructive party theme one can plan, a work party would not be complete without a fortifying and downright ‘workable’ work party cake. This delicious treat is an expected part of any festivity.
At a work party, people will be investing their time and effort in a project the host devises; that is why the work party cake should be both yummy and hearty. It should be both delicious and filling in nature. It should be a fortifying confection that will feed and sustain their guests through a long, hard (but fun) day of labor.
A host may want to forsake light, frilly cakes in favor of a thicker and more substantial work party cake; a marble cake, for example, or a black forest or red velvet cake. Save dainty cakes for frilly tea parties. A heavy fruit cake might be another option, though that might not be a popular choice for many guests! Try to choose a surefire crowd pleaser.
A novelty confection also might work for a work party cake. The host could present a sheet cake fashioned to resemble a construction site, with chocolate icing serving as the ‘dirt’ and small plastic party supplies (such as construction worker action figures and play work tools and construction machines) lining the top. Guests will be amazed by the creativity of this gesture.
Make a day of work a lot more fun with a festive work party cake!

The kids will soon express an interest in going to work with mommy or daddy and even in what they’ll do when they grow up and a work party can satisfy their desires. This can lead to a lot of trips to the library to pick up books on their latest obsession. You can easily turn this into a chance to create an impromptu work party. Work parties can take many forms. You can have a work party that focuses on one job in particular, for example if your child is interested in studying dinosaurs, and then you can combine work with a dinosaur party and have a perfect and educational time.
There are lots of party supplies that can make this a fun experience too. Pick up some inflatable dinosaurs and for party favors get plastic shovels and buckets so the kids can have their own expedition. While at the party kids can learn all about the stuff they need to learn to get one of many jobs.
Or you can have a plain old dress up work party and just invite the kids dressed up in a work uniform. Decorate your party with paper supplies related to many different jobs, American heroes’ plates, Oscar themed tablecloths and musical instruments for favors. This is actually a great party to have if you are looking to use up some older party supplies. While at the party the kids can talk about the job they dressed up for and you can even set up guessing games and have the other kids try and guess what each is dressed up for. For fun have them ‘clock in’ when they get to the party and ‘clock out’ when its time to leave. When they do leave you can ‘pay’ them with a goodie bag filled with treats like customized pens and pencils and stickers, throw in some chocolate foil covered coins for their ‘pay.’
